Meet our Carers
My name is Robin and I will be looking after all of your beautiful children while you work out. I have recently finished my Bachelor of Teaching in Early Childhood Education through Open Polytechnic of NZ.
I live in Papamoa East with my fiancé, James and our three boys; Beau (7), Oscar (5) and Louie (2) and our dog Ralph. My two oldest attend Golden Sands school and my youngest attends daycare a few days a week and will be with me some days.
We are a very active family and spend most weekends at the beach, camping, at skate parks or finding bush walks. I also enjoy baking cakes and cupcakes and have a wee business doing that on the side of everything else!
I have always been passionate about working with children and have had many years of experience.
After completing college, I worked with children at summer camp for three years in Wisconsin, USA. I then moved to Perth, Australia where I worked in a childcare centre for 2 years. After that it was time to move home to start my own family and start my early childhood degree.
I am extremely excited to be given this opportunity to work with the children here at Mini Me Mummies and cant wait to get to know you all!
Hi Ladies. I’m Renee Ball, A.K.A “Mummy” to my daughter Honor and “Babe” to my husband Tim.
Tim and I married early last year after being together for 12 years and with our 18 month old in tow we moved from Auckland to Papamoa to get away from a very busy lifestyle we realised we had created for ourselves. Now working at a pace at which we can appreciate the finer things in life, we have absolutely no regrets. This place is definitely home for the rest of our lives.
As I will be minding your little ones while you fit some ME time into your day, I thought I’d let you know a little about myself, so you can feel more comfortable about doing so.
I’m an Early Childhood Educator, a qualified Nanny, and a full-time Mum!
I began my first part-time job as a nanny while I was still studying. This was with a three month old boy and is where I gained and secured confidence in looking after young babies. I then went on to work within child daycare centres and a special needs school, whist furthering my training with and qualifications in water safety, self-defence and first aid certificates for young children.
By the time I had graduated I had worked as a temp-nanny for numerous families with children of all ages. These jobs gave me the opportunity to gain huge amounts of experience working alongside new mums which in turn, helped boost their confidence as I shared my tips and advice on how to adapt to a new life with their little treasures.
At the age of 21, whilst Tim was overseas playing rugby, I applied for jobs abroad and landed one in Dubai. I worked for a family with two boys; aged three weeks and five years. This job taught me so much more about myself that I never knew, and taught me even more about children including how to work within different cultures and adapt to different styles of living. After one year there I returned home for an exciting opportunity where I was asked to work with the children of a well-known New Zealand celebrity. Her three children aged three months, four and seven years. I became so close with this family and ended up staying with them for three and a half years, during which time I was in high demand for other well-known New Zealand families, including one of New Zealand’s top rugby stars.
In my eyes, my nanny career had reached its peak, so I decided that I wanted to fulfil another dream of mine, Midwifery. At the beginning of year two however, I finally fell pregnant with Honor and decided that studying wasn’t the best thing for me anymore as I wanted to be able to focus 100% on being a new mum.
My passion for working with children is obvious and I thrive on teaching kids new skills and enjoy watching their little minds discover the world, this is why I can’t wait to get to know all of you and your little ones. I know I’m going to thoroughly enjoy the time I’ll get to spend with them.
